Glad you had a nice day out, my daughter and I often pop to Sewerby, it's close enough to travel with the kids. We also take packed luch with us, the little cafe is so cramped. We rarely go into the house though, firstly we usually have one or two dogs with us and secondly I wouldn't want to take the kids in with all of those valuable items!!!!
Have you had the kids to Danes Dyke? It's great for the kids to spend time searching through the rock pools.

Another good day out is Selby Game Fair. It is a four day event starting on Good Friday. Everything to do with country pursuits, if you are interested. It's a great day for the kids, all sorts of displays going on. If you do a google search for Selby game Fair you can find out all the details. We are hoping to go again this year. It is not actually in Selby though, it's a t aplace called Carlton Towers just outside Selby. All signposted though.
