althiugh slightly dated now these are three very concerning books i think mainly because they are possible. james herbert had a flash of inspiration when he wrote these. all based on a superior breed of rats who are super intelligent and bloody vicious. read these books in the half light with a stick beside you just in case.

I read The Rats about 15 years ago and bloody loved it, haven't read the others tho. My fave Herbert book is Sepulchra, 'cos until about half way thru you're not sure where the horror element is and then all of a sudden it's one of the scariest things in the world. Very cool.
